Holistic Education - Role Played by Online and Offline Teaching

Abstract

Holistic education is an approach to learning that emphasizes the development of a person- intellectually, 
emotionally, socially, physically, and sometimes spiritually.
This approach recognizes that individuals are complex and multifaceted, therefore; the education 
should strive to nurture all aspects of their being. Holistic education not only prepares students for 
academic success, but also enables the students to learn the challenges of living as an integrated whole. 
It is founded on the belief that learners may find their identity and purpose in life through making 
connections with their local community and the natural environment, as well as instilling universal 
human values like empathy, integrity and respect.
It has been experienced that holistic education gets a setback when teaching mode is shifted from 
offline to online. 
Offline teaching involves physical classrooms and in-person learning of learners, direct teacherstudent interactions, while online teaching opens cloud based learning programmes, access to educational 
resources globally, still Offline teaching is much better for Holistic development of learners in many 
aspects .
